Samsung Launches Galaxy S24, S24+ With 12GB RAM, 7yrs of Support

Samsung has officially unveiled its flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+, during the highly anticipated Galaxy Unpacked event. Keeping true to its promise, Samsung introduces cutting-edge features in these devices.

The Galaxy S24 and S24+ boast stunning displays, with a 6.2-inch FHD+ and 6.7-inch Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity-O flat Displays, featuring an adaptive refresh rate of 1-120Hz and a remarkable brightness of up to 2600 nits.


Under the hood, these smartphones are powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy and Exynos 2400 processors, depending on the market. Notably, the vapor chamber cooling system has been enhanced for improved thermal performance on both models.

In terms of software, the Galaxy S24 series runs on Android 14 with One UI 6.1. Samsung promises an unprecedented level of support, offering seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates.

Introducing innovative AI features, the phones come equipped with an in-display Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanner. The Galaxy S24 series introduces Galaxy AI, featuring Live Translate for real-time voice and text translations during phone calls, Interpreter, Chat Assist, Note Assist, Transcript Assist, and a gesture-driven Circle to Search.

In a commendable move towards sustainability, the Galaxy S24 incorporates components made from recycled cobalt and rare earth elements. It marks the first Galaxy S series designed with recycled steel and Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU). Furthermore, each Galaxy S24 is packaged in a box made from 100% recycled paper material.

The camera setup includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor with OIS, a 12-megapixel Ultra Wide Lens with a 120-degree field of view, a 10-megapixel Telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and OIS, and a 12-megapixel front-facing camera. Both front and rear cameras are equipped with a Dedicated ISP Block for noise reduction during video recording.

Both phones carry an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. The Galaxy S24 houses a 4000mAh battery with 25W fast charging support, while the Galaxy S24+ boasts a larger 4900mAh battery with 45W fast charging capabilities. Additionally, both phones support wireless and reverse wireless charging, providing users with versatile power options.
