Chinese tech giant OnePlus will officially launch its highly anticipated flagship phone, OnePlus 12, on December 5, 2023, at 2.30 pm (local time) in China.
According to a teaser video posted on the Chinese social networking site Weibo, the OnePlus 12 will now be released on December 5, 2023, and not on December 4, 2023, as previously suggested to coincide with the tenth anniversary celebrations of OnePlus.
The renders reveal that the OnePlus 12 will be available in Pale Green, Rock Black, and White color options (machine translated from Chinese). It also highlights a giant circular camera bump on the back panel housing three cameras and a fourth ring with some sensors inside. It has an ‘H’ logo for Hasselblad branding in the middle and also includes a OnePlus logo.
Further, the LED flash unit is positioned at the top-left corner outside the round camera module. In addition, the OnePlus 12 will sport a periscope zoom lens, allowing users to take high-quality photos of distant objects. The smartphone will also feature curved edges and narrow bezels all around the display.
Under the hood, the new OnePlus 12 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC with Adreno GPU and could be backed by up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 internal storage.
On the camera front, the primary camera will feature a 50MP Sony LYT-808 sensor with OIS (Optical image stabilization) support and a 50MP ultrawide Sony IMX581 sensor. It will also be accompanied by a 64MP OmniVision OV64B telephoto sensor offering 3x optical zoom. The device may have a 32MP camera for selfies and video calls.
Further, the new OnePlus 12 could be powered by a massive 5,400 mAh battery with support for 100W fast wired charging and a 50W wireless charging facility. The device will run Android 14-based OxygenOS right out of the box and USB 3.2 support over Type-C for faster data transfer speeds.
Currently, OnePlus is taking pre-orders for the OnePlus 12 via its official online store and JD.com, which is expected to debut globally in January 2024.
