WhatsApp Can Now Transfer Chat Data Between Android and iOS Devices

After rumours circulated for several weeks, now WhatsApp has finally officially announced the support for transferring chat data from iOS to Android or vice versa.

This transfer support was announced by WhatsApp in conjunction with the Galaxy Unpacked event held by Samsung on August 11, 2021, to launch several new smartphones.

This announcement of support at the Galaxy Unpacked event is not without reason. It is revealed that two Samsung folding smartphones, namely the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 will get this feature first.

For Samsung, the presence of this feature will be an advantage because iOS users who want to move to the Galaxy Z Fold3 or Z Flip3 will be supported when transferring chat data from iOS to Android.

It is planned that this support will be brought to iOS devices and Samsung phones with Android 10 and above in the next few weeks. It is uncertain how long this Samsung exclusivity will end.

To transfer data, users will have to connect their iOS and Samsung devices using a USB Type-C to Lightning cable because users cannot do this transfer process via the internet due to security.
