Apple has released a new iOS update for iPhone and iPad users. iOS 14.4.1 and iPad OS 14.4.1 are the two software updates that are out with security updates. The new update 14.4 was released a month ago but had a memory corruption issue in the Webkit browsing engine. So, with the latest update, it has been fixed.
iOS 14.4 and iPad OS 14.4 issue was within WebKit browsing, it would allow the hackers to execute code on iPhone, iPad, MacBook, Mac Computer, or Apple Watch via “Maliciously crafted” content. With the new software update, Apple has also updated Safari on Mac that runs on Catalina and Mojave.
Apple has provided a security fix via iOS 14.4.1, iPad OS 14.4.1, macOS Big Sur 11.2.3, and watchOS 7.3.2. It has fixed the memory corruption issue. On the security page of Apple, the vulnerability was listed under CVE-2021-1844. The security researchers of Google’s Threat Analysis Group reported the vulnerability.
All the iPhone 6s and above models can download iOS 14.4.1. And for iPadOS 14.4.1 iPad Air 2 and above and iPad mini 4 and the new models.
Install the new update by going to Settings on your device >> General >> Software update.
All MacBook, iMac, Mac mini and other Mac computers that are compatible with the original Big Sur Update can now update to macOS Big Sur 11.2.3. Usually, all the macOS updates are done automatically to all the eligible models. But, if you want to check it out manually then click on the Apple icon at the top left corner of the screen, then click on System Preferences > Software Update. Or you can also find the update from the About This Mac option from the Apple menu.
On your Apple Watch download the watchOS 7.3.2. Go to the Watch app on your Apple device and go to the My Watch section and get the latest software update.
Apart from this, there are reports, that Apple is planning to release a new iOS 14 updates soon. The new OS will be iOS 14.5 which might bring small UI tweaks and new features.
