We all know very well that the Pixelbook of the tech giant Google is one of the best laptops that exist today, however, is not an alternative for those users who still do not believe that ChromeOS is the best operating system. Hence, the tech giant Google is currently working on mysterious “AltOS” for Pixelbook.

The flagship laptop of the tech giant Google, the Pixelbook, one of the best laptops that exist today, however, is not an alternative for those users who still do not believe that ChromeOS is the best operating system. This reality could change very soon thanks to an AltOS mode that would allow Pixelbook users to run Windows instead of ChromeOS.

The proof that the tech giant Google is working in this mode is offered by a user of Reddit, who claimed to have found references to it in the development code of the Pixelbook. Later it was accessed and it was found that in the update there is “AltOS” mode. The following is stated in the Reddit thread:-
The evidence is quite light for this, so we are still in the speculative phase what AltOS would mean. Probably this is in order to make it easier for internal developers to run the boot in Fuchsia; maybe the expert’s comment means that this is with the aim of starting Windows natively.
In this way, the tech giant Google would be looking for more flexibility for the Pixelbook, by allowing this AltOS mode it opens the way for developers to incorporate Fuchsia OS, the operating system that Google currently working on and soon will combine attributes of Android and Chrome in its laptop. This also follows up on reports published last December stating that Google was testing Fuchsia OS on the Pixelbook.

However, there is also the possibility that AltOS mode allows users to install systems such as Linux or Windows 10 in addition to ChromeOS by default. In this sense, users of the Pixelbook would choose to execute the boot of the operating system of their preference, something known as Dual Boot.

In any case, this measure would greatly optimize the usefulness of these laptops, which cost almost US $1,000, is currently very limited in relation to the software that runs. In case Windows 10 can be executed in the Pixelbook, this computer would become a highly attractive device for users of the Microsoft Office package that currently cannot be executed in ChromeOS.
