All About the Tecno Camon X, X Pro and 3 Other Phones

The Transsion Holdings, makers of Tecno mobiles on yesterday launched Tecno Camon X with its senior version, called Camon XPro, in an event that was held in Lagos, Nigeria, attended by Nigeria’s Minister of Communication; Abdur-Raheem Adebayo Shittu.

The firm on the other hand also launched 3 smartphones; Tecno F1, Tecno F2 and Tecno POP 1.

TECNO Camon X and XPro: All About the Selfie Game


Not to be confused with the Camon CX series, the new Tecno Camon X series was obviously built with selfie addicts in mind. I mean, why else would anyone put a 24-megapixel front camera on a smartphone?


According to Philex Meng, Chief Marketing Officer Tecno Mobile, it goes even beyond the megapixels.

  • Price and AvailabilityThe Tecno Camon X and Tecno Camon X Pro smartphones are already available in Nigeria. They were launched on the 5th of April, 2018 with cool specifications and features. Both device will be sold in all Tecno retail outlets in Nigeria. Other countries should expect it soon.
According to Tecno, the Tecno Camon X will retail for around ₦58,000 and the Tecno Camon X Pro smartphone costs ₦65,000 in Nigeria. You can get them on Jumia and other online shops.


Tecno F Series: Go-power!Tecno also announced the F series — Tecno F1, Tecno F2 and Tecno POP1 (aka F3) — as their new entry-level models, which leverage the Android Oreo (Go edition).
The Android Oreo (Go edition) was developed specifically for entry-level smartphones and comes pre-installed with stripped down, ‘offline-first’ versions of popular Google apps such as YouTube Go, Gmail Go and other “Gos”.

Needless to say, the F series is targeted primarily at first-timers so, don’t expect all the bells and whistles of a mid to high-end smartphone.
