NCC Wants to Make Subscribers Receive 14 Days Grace to Roll-over Unused Data

This news has appeared in the spotlight before and it is getting serious by time. Nigerian Telecommunication Commission (NCC) really wants to increase data validity period so customers or internet subscribers can roll over their unused data after 14 days of its expiration.
NCC said they are fighting to protect consumers from unfair practices through availability of information and education to make informed choices in the use of ICT services.

NCC issued telco providers on special notice that they are currently monitoring user experience on issues of poor reception, wrong billings and deductions, automatic roll over among other issues and if they fail to improve services to the detriment of the consumers, will face appropriate regulatory actions and sanctions.

NCC vow to issue a directive to the service providers to give a 14 day window to the subscribers to enable them roll over their unused data, even if they do not renew on the date of expiration of the current subscription. (In other words, you may have upto 45 days period before your unused data will be wiped out).

If you have issues with any Telecom provider, dial toll-free customer care line 622 to lodge complaints to NCC about unsatisfactory services of the telecom service providers.
