A 21-year-old Chinese woman who goes by the pseudonym Wu Xiaojing lost her right eye after spending 24 hours playing the non-stop “Honor of Kings” game on Oct. 1.
The 21-year-old Wu, an accountant by profession, claims that she was addicted to the Honor of Kings game. On normal days, she spends as long as 8 hours without eating, drinking or even going to toilet on playing the game.
However, on October 1, the incident happened when she was playing the game after her dinner. She told Global times
According to Medicine Plus, Retinal Artery Occlusion is a medical condition where a blockage occurs in one of the arteries that carry blood to the retina. This type of case mostly occurs in elderly people and might lead to a permanent loss of sight.
According to the doctors, pseudonym Wu Xiaojing would have a 20% to 35% chance of seeing again normally. Doctors had also claimed that the “excessive” viewing of the screen is the likely cause of RAO.

If I don’t work, I usually get up around 6 am, have breakfast, then play until 4 pm.She was immediately taken to the hospital and later diagnosed with Retinal Artery Occlusion which in short known as RAO.
I would eat something, take a nap, wake up and continue playing until 1 or 2 am. My parents had warned me that I might go blind.
