How to Upgrade Your Tecno Phantom 6 Plus to Android OS 7.1.1 Nougat Via OTA Update and SD Card

Tecno recently told us that they will be sending Android OS 7.1.1 Nougat to Tecno Phantom 6 Plus. Fulling this promise, Tecno Phantom 6 Plus users can now upgrade their smartphone to Android OS 7.1.1 Nougat Via OTA Update or through SDcard.

Things You Will Need To Upgrade Your Tecno Phantom 6 Plus To Android OS 7.1.1 Nougat:

• The OTA Nougat upgrade is about 1.7GB. Make sure you have a fast internet connection and data up to 2GB.
• Make sure your smartphone is not rooted. If it is, kindly unroot your device before upgrading.
• Your device should be atleast 90% charged or directly connected to a power source while the upgrade is been done.

How to Upgrade Your Tecno Phantom 6 Plus to Android OS 7.1.1 Nougat Via OTA Update

• Go to Settings from your phone.
• Tap on "About Phone".
• Tap on "System Update".
• Your device will check for update and you will be prompted to upgrade your device over the air
• Now, tap on "Download icon" for the download to begin .
• Then wait for the download to complete 100%

Once the download is completed, your device will be rebooted and you should have Android 7.1.1 Nougat on your Tecno Phantom 6 plus.

You can download the  Android OS 7.1.1 Nougat upgrade to your SDcard and follow the below installation procedures

• Copy the downloaded Nougat update (SDcard_update_xxxxxx.zip) to the root directory of your sdcard
• Go to the “Settings – About Phone – System Software Upgrade” menu
• Select the SD Card and click on Install.

During the installation, your device may be shut down, “During the upgrade, do not remove the battery and SD card or turn off the phone,” Just make sure your device is charged atleast 90%.

• Wait for the installation to complete and you are good to go.
