Recording audio from a Bluetooth microphone isn’t something that iOS can do out of the box, but that doesn’t mean it’s not entirely possible. With a little help from a third-party app, you can use a wireless headset and record your voice through that if you need to.
The app you’ll need is called Audio Memos, and it costs just $0.99 in the App Store. There’s a free version too, but it doesn’t come with the Bluetooth features. There’s also the Pro version available for $9.99, but you won’t need if all you want is the Bluetooth capabilities.
Once you have the app downloaded and installed, open it up and click on the gear settings icon in the bottom-left corner.
Next to “Use Bluetooth mic”, tap on the toggle switch to enable the feature. The switch will turn green.
Tap on “Done” in the top-right corner to save the settings and go back to the main screen.
From there, you can connect your Bluetooth microphone or headset to your iOS device and the app will automatically recognize it as a recording device and use it when you start recording.
Of course, keep in mind that recording audio through a Bluetooth microphone won’t get you the same quality as a wired microphone, so if you can, always try to plug a microphone directly into your iPhone or iPad using the headphone jack or Lightning port.
